Shell and tube heat exchanger

First, equipment overview:

The shell-and-tube heat exchanger is a universal process equipment that realizes heat transfer between materials and performs heat exchange operations. Widely used in chemical, petroleum, petrochemical, power, light industry, metallurgy, food, atomic energy, shipbuilding, aviation, heating and other industries. Two kinds of hot and cold fluids for heat exchange, one flowing in the tube, called the tube-fluid; the other flowing outside the tube, called the shell-side fluid. In order to increase the coefficient of heat transfer of the fluid outside the tube, several baffles are usually installed in the housing. The baffle can increase the velocity of the shell-side fluid, forcing the fluid to cross the tube bundle several times in a defined distance, increasing the degree of fluid turbulence. The heat exchange tubes can be arranged in an equilateral triangle or square on the tube sheet. The equilateral triangle arrangement is more compact, the degree of fluid turbulence outside the tube is high, and the heat transfer coefficient is large; the square arrangement is convenient for cleaning outside the tube, and is suitable for fluids that are prone to fouling. Each pass of the fluid through the tube bundle is called a tube pass; each pass through the shell is called a shell pass. In order to increase the fluid velocity in the tube, partitions can be placed in the tube boxes at both ends, and all the tubes are divided into several groups. This way the fluid passes through only part of the tube at a time, so it travels back and forth several times in the tube bundle. This is called multiple tube pass. Similarly, in order to increase the flow rate outside the tube, a longitudinal baffle can be installed in the housing to force the fluid to pass through the housing space several times. This is called a multi-shell process, and multi-tube and multi-shell processes can be used in conjunction.

Second, the equipment composition structure:

At present, in the heat exchange equipment, the shell-and-tube heat exchanger is the most used, and has been widely used in various industries. The shell-and-tube heat exchanger consists of a shell, a heat transfer tube bundle, a tube sheet, a baffle (baffle), a tube box, a process tube, and a support. The shell is mostly cylindrical and has a tube bundle inside. The ends of the tube bundle are fixed on the tube sheet. The tube box and the shell are connected by flange bolts. The welding of the tube and the tube sheet uses welding processes such as welding and strength welding.
